Privacy Policy

SEEN ("we", "our", or "us") is a social concert-tracking app developed and operated by Jacob Rome, an independent developer. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Data We Collect

When you use SEEN, we may collect the following information:

• Account information -- email address, display name, username, and profile photo
• Concert content -- photos and videos you upload, show logs, ratings, and comments
• Social data -- likes, follows, and interactions within the app
• Device tokens -- Apple Push Notification tokens so we can deliver notifications you have opted into

How We Use Your Data

• To provide the SEEN service -- creating your account, displaying your concert history, rankings, and social feed
• To send push notifications (e.g., when someone follows you, likes your post, or comments on your show)
• To display your content in feeds and on your profile
• To improve the app, fix issues, and develop new features

Data Storage

Your data is stored using the following infrastructure:

• PostgreSQL database (hosted by Neon) -- account information, show logs, rankings, and social data
• Cloudflare R2 -- photos, videos, and other media files
• Railway -- application hosting

Third-Party Services

SEEN uses the following third-party services to provide and enhance the app:

• Setlist.fm -- for concert and setlist data; subject to Setlist.fm's Terms
• MusicBrainz -- for artist metadata and enrichment
• Apple Push Notification Service (APNs) -- for delivering push notifications to your device
• Cloudflare R2 -- for secure storage of uploaded photos and videos

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Your data is only shared in the following limited circumstances:

• With other SEEN users, as part of the social features you choose to use (e.g., your public profile, posts, and comments)
• With the third-party services listed above, as needed to provide the service
• If required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users

Your Rights

You have control over your data:

• Delete your account -- you can delete your account at any time from Settings > Delete Account. This permanently removes all your data, including your profile, concert history, media, and social interactions.
• Private profile -- you can set your profile to private so that only approved followers can see your content.

Children's Privacy

SEEN is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including:

• HTTPS encryption for all API communication
• Bcrypt-hashed passwords
• JWT-based authentication

However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you through the app or by other means. Your continued use of SEEN after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
